Health starts here for you and your family. At Parkland, patient care is more than our job—it is our passion and our heritage.
We believe that excellence in medicine is inseparable from equity in access. For over 125 years, Parkland has served as the bedrock of health for Dallas County, evolving from a local infirmary into one of the largest public hospital systems in the country. We are a community of providers who value the unique experience of every individual who enters our doors.
Parkland Health first opened its doors in 1894. Today, we manage more than one million outpatient visits annually, providing essential services through our Level I Trauma Center, the first verified burn center in North Texas, and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Our system is not defined solely by our main campus. We are woven into the fabric of Dallas County through 16 primary care health centers and several mobile medical vans that bring preventive care, sick visits, and mental health services directly into neighborhoods where they are needed most.
As the primary teaching hospital for the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, we are a site of constant discovery and education, training the next generation of medical professionals while delivering state-of-the-art clinical care.
